For those that don’t know…. back in 1991 I had a DJ crew called Livitup Productions. My business card still says Livitup Productions, and the dude’s are still my fam til this day. Hey Mesa (currently one half of the Cocaine Kids with NSquared) is one of my original partners in Livitup. This guy’s definitely a big influence on the music that I listened to growing up, especially when it comes to Hiphop. Right now, he’s gotten me back into the whole disco thing (as you can see from the Jive Turkey mix that I posted up).
Hey Mesa took this old (not old school, just old) Petey Pablo track and flipped it. If you don’t remember the track, it was one of those Lil Jon sounding, dirty south joints that I hated and almost refused to play, that everyone mixed with Ciara’s Goodies. Anyways… Hey Mesa took it and flipped it with a disco vibe. Something to bring it back to the dance floor… picked up the tempo on it too. So here it is, check it out, download it, play it.
