Deux Process – The Ballad of Lost Angels (2010)

27 Sep

First off… Deux Process are my people.  Shout out to Chief (he usually books me to DJ at the Usual Suspects parties).  I also just produced, shot, and edited their most recent music video, which will be out very soon.   They just dropped a new track and I’m sucker for tracks about LA with  that particular LA vibe.  They did a track a few years back called Ballad of Lost Angels.  They’re not even from LA, but they captured the feeling of living in LA perfectly.  The first version had a smooth track with a classic west coast, laid back vibe.  This time around, they’ve redone the song with a new track, produced by Stro the 89th Key.  Still captures that LA vibe, but has a newer and fresher vibe to it.  I’m also pretty happy that Vise Versa kept in the part where he describes LA as a woman.  Enough reading… just download it, and be on the look out for the album coming soon…. “The Price of Dreams”.

All vinyl set on Chuey TV

8 Sep

I’ve known this dude Chuey since about 2002 or 2003…   He’s kinda done a lot.  You should google him if you’re interested.  His ustream show has had guest DJs, artists, big name, no name, up and comers… check it out sometime.  A few weeks back, he had me come in and rock a set on an all vinyl night.  Dirty records, skipping needles, lack of practice, not hearing songs in a long time… but still.. gotta love the fact that its all wax, and not everyone has the shit that I’m dropping. I was lagging on putting up… but here it is now!!  I come on around 1:05:45.  I’ll have the audio posted up at some point.  but for now.. check it out here.

recorded Live.. from The Bridge

2 Sep

Last Saturday was another edition of The Bridge, at Rehab.  Since it was DJ Hapa’s 30th birthday, we had a whole weekend of festivities goin on.  Instead of just DJing on the rooftop of Hotel Erwin, we actually stayed there.  Those are cool ass rooms!  Pictures soon.  Hapa set up a limo to go from the hotel to Rehab… and let’s just say… too many WOO GIRLS in a limo is NOT a good look.  Sorry you had to sit through that Cygnet.

Anyways… We got to the party and I dropped the opening set.  As I mentioned previously, it was a dope line up to be a part of.  I really wish I could remember more of the night, but the open vodka bar for the first two hours kicked my ass.  Good thing I recorded my set, and good thing the vodka didn’t hit me til the later part of my set.

I was in a Hiphop mood.  I haven’t been playing too much good Hiphop, so I took this as my chance to do that.  So if you’re lookin for some good Hiphop, or just wanna see what you missed out on… Click on the picture to download the mix!!
